UW-Madison ranked 12th best public university by U.S. News & World Report

The University of Wisconsin–Madison is tied for 12th among public institutions in U.S. News & World Report’s latest college rankings. The rankings include more than 300 national universities.

“We are incredibly proud of the education and Wisconsin experience we offer students,” says Provost Sarah Mangelsdorf. “Our faculty and staff are among the best in the world.”

Along with traditional face-to-face programs for undergraduates and graduate students, UW–Madison offers a growing menu of post-baccalaureate degree, certificate, and noncredit programs for those seeking to sharpen their professional skills or to change careers. These flexible offerings include online, hybrid, accelerated, and evening/weekend courses that can easily fit into busy schedules. Students in these programs strongly benefit from the university’s standards of excellence.

For example, U.S. News and World Report ranked the undergraduate program at the UW–Madison College of Engineering seventh among public institutions. The College of Engineering offers many flexible post-baccalaureate programs, including accelerated master’s degrees in Systems Engineering and Analytics  and Automotive Engineering.

U.S. News and World Report also ranked the undergraduate program at the Wisconsin School of Business seventh among public institutions. The Wisconsin School of Business’ flexible post-baccalaureate programs range from an Evening MBA to a capstone certificate in Actuarial Science.

In its recent graduate school rankings, U.S. News & World Report put the UW–Madison School of Education in the top spot among public institutions. The School of Education’s flexible post-baccalaureate programs include master’s degrees for Professional Educators and for Secondary Education and English as a Second Language Certification.
