The Master of Science in Applied Biotechnology is offered in partnership with UW-Madison, UW-Green Bay, UW-Oshkosh, UW-Parkside, UW-Platteville, UW-Stevens Point, and UW-Whitewater. Classes are taught by faculty from one of our partner campuses or by biotechnology industry experts serving as adjunct faculty. Admissions and events

Program requirements

All applicants must:

  • Have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0
  • Have completed one General Biology course with laboratory at the undergraduate level
  • Submit evidence of English language proficiency, if applicable. See the Graduate School Requirements for more information

Application instructions

  • Complete the online application
  • Enter the required information including your personal, contact and background information and educational history
  • Complete the program section by adding a statement of purpose and uploading PDFs of your undergraduate transcript and two letters of recommendation
  • Complete the residency evaluation
  • Review and submit the application

Adult Career and Special Student Services (ACSSS) is the admitting office for all University Special students, including capstone certificate students. However, the department offering the capstone certificate program makes the final admission decision upon review of all applicant materials.
