A Master’s of Social Work (MSW) is a versatile degree.

With our comprehensive curriculum, nationally recognized faculty, innovative field education, and the resources of a world-renowned university, you will build the necessary skills to take your career in any direction you choose. The Part-Time MSW Program’s hybrid instructional delivery is intended to meet the needs of our diverse student population, many of whom commute and/or work.

  • The program offers a live classroom experience to acquire advanced practice skills and competencies
  • Hone your skills in one of two focus areas: Mental Health or Child, Youth and Family Welfare
  • Earn your master’s degree from UW–Madison in a flexible hybrid format — with both online and in-person classes. In-person classes meet every other Saturday on the UW–Madison campus. Opposite Saturday sessions meet online (either asynchronously or remote via Zoom). Students should plan to be available each Saturday for class.
