Registration information

Earn an Advanced Dementia Care Certificate by successfully completing at least three of the asynchronous noncredit courses and participating in one virtual learning lab.

What you will learn

You will learn multi-disciplinary perspectives and evidence-based skills to improve outcomes for and address the complex reality of clients’ medical and psychosocial care.

How you'll learn

  • Asynchronous, online courses and live virtual learning labs.
  • Earning professional badges along the way as a way to record knowledge and skill achievement through a static digital icon which contains the details of the work completed to earn the badge.
  • Self-paced badge courses; complete within six months of registration.
  • Learn up-to-date information and apply approaches to professional scenarios during the virtual learning labs.

Courses

  • Course 1: Collaboration and Legal Challenges in Advanced Dementia Care which includes Advanced Dementia Care: Legal Challenges and Advanced Dementia Care: Collaboration badges
  • Course 2: Physical Aspects of Care: Diagnoses, Medications and Therapy
  • Course 3: Caring for the Whole Person: Spiritual, social, mental and emotional needs
  • Course 4: Unique Needs of Caregivers and Patients

Each courses will be approximately 15 hours of Continuing Education (CE).

Learning Labs

  • Participate in one virtual learning lab

Each virtual learning lab will be available for 3 Continuing Education (CE) hours.
