Knowledgebase: Enrollment & Admissions
Can I apply to more than one program at the same time?
Yes. You may apply to multiple programs, but you will need to submit separate applications and materials for each one. Explore your options here: https://pdc.wisc.edu/explore-programs/
Can I start taking classes before I’m officially admitted to a program?
Some professional development courses and noncredit certificates allow open enrollment so you can take classes before formal admission. Most graduate certificates and master’s programs, however, require official admission before you can begin. Check your program page for details: https://pdc.wisc.edu/explore-programs/
Do I need to take the GRE or any standardized tests to apply?
Most Professional Degrees and Certificates programs at UW–Madison do not require the GRE or other standardized test scores. You can confirm requirements for your specific program here: https://pdc.wisc.edu/explore-programs/
If I already earned a certificate at UW–Madison, do I need to reapply to enter a related master’s program?
Yes. Earning a certificate does not automatically guarantee admission into a related master’s program. You must submit a new application, though some certificate credits may transfer. Review your program page for transfer and admission details: https://pdc.wisc.edu/explore-programs/
