Lauren Lande

UW–Madison has a reputation as a great engineering school, and I liked that the online classes are taught live, so there is plenty of interaction with professors and students. This program allowed me to get the education I needed to advance in my career while also working full-time. It really improved my confidence in my abilities and knowledge.

In the first week at my job, I used some of the skills I learned in the MEM program and was asked to teach my coworkers these skills. This gave me early creditability and allowed me to contribute to the team’s productivity early in my new position. The skills I use the most in my current role are skills I learned in the MEM program.

Throughout [my first fall] semester, I had the opportunity to lead groups through design challenges, collaborate with students in and outside of my cohort, and learn from the faculty and staff of UW. This experience has already been incredibly rewarding and I look forward to building on this momentum!
